Things to remember when planning a weekend house party

Most of us who are working on weekdays would always look forward to having a good and relaxing weekend spent with either our family or a set of close friends. Every once in a while it would be nice to plan for a small get together house party in order for us to have the opportunity to catch up with what’s going on with each other’s lives and at the same time just hang out and have a good time. If ever you’re in charge of planning the party over the weekend things may get a little bit too overwhelming for you, especially if you also have a full-time job. To help you with your situation, below are some friendly and convenient tips to make your party planning a success.

One of the best things to do is to plan ahead of time. Even experienced party planners need sufficient time to plan for an event. Give yourself at least one or two weeks to plan for the event. A good planner creates a list of the things that need to be accomplished in order to make sure that everything will fall into place.

The following things should be included on your checklist:

  1. Finalize your location or venue- If it’s going to be a house party you should start coordinating with your friends and ask them who is willing to volunteer to use his/her house as a venue for the weekend party. Once you have finalized the venue then you can proceed to the next step.
  2. Start making calls to confirm the total number of expected headcounts for the house party. This should be done at least one week ahead of time so your friends can clear up or fix their schedules in order to be able to attend the get-together. If most of you are already married with kids you might also consider adding a few additional heads.
  3. Since your friends will look forward to this special event, it is also a must to serve them good food. Plan for your menu ahead of time and choose the type of food that are easy to prepare such as nachos, pasta, salads, and even pizza by calling the Wicked Pizza Company a few hours before the party to have your orders delivered right at the comfort of your doorstep. Also, do not forget to add some kid-friendly stuff on the menu and shop for your drinks and refreshments. Make sure that they are served chilled and you have a decent supply of ice cubes. Also do not forget to shop for trash bags and disposable plates, glasses, and utensils to make cleaning up easier for everyone.
  4. Clean and prepare the venue ahead of time. You can probably come in a few hours earlier before the party starts just to help set up the venue for the house party. Just make sure that you have enough tables and chairs for everyone and all the foods and refreshments are ready before the rest of the guests arrive.
